Breast Lift PDF Print
Mastopexy, commonly called a breast lift, is a procedure to tighten the skin that supports the breasts by surgically removing small portions of tissue. The breasts are supported by a single ligament which can stretch and loosen over time due to the effects of gravity. This problem is often worst in women who have nursed children or who have large breasts.

Mastopexy is most successful with smaller breasts that require less tissue removal and will leave less visible scarring. It is not recommended for women who plan to become pregnant because nursing may undo the effects of the surgery. The procedure is also most successful in non-smokers, who report less displeasure with visible scarring. This surgery is exceptionally safe, though it does carry with it the same risks as any surgical procedure conducted under anesthetic.

If you are concerned about a drooping breasts as well as enlarged areolas or diminished breast size, this procedure can be combined with other procedures to provide a complete breast-enhancement. If you have concerns about scarring or combining this procedure with others, please contact our offices to schedule a personal appointment with Dr. Ziesmann so that he may address any concerns with your personal situation.
