Patients must meet with Dr. Ziesmann to discuss their goals with the procedure so that a mutual understanding can be achieved before your surgery. After the procedure, patients typically reserve three to four days before returning to work or their typical daily activities, but others may choose to wait a full week for their personal comfort. Full healing and reduction of swelling can take several weeks, during which time patients are asked to meet with Dr. Ziesmann to ensure both that you are satisfied with the procedure and that you are medically sound and comfortable. After approximately three to four weeks most patients find that they are fully healed and can return to a typical daily schedule including exercise, moderate lifting, and a full range of arm movements. During the recovery time, Dr. Ziesmann may prescribe medication to ease any discomfort and non-medicinal recommendations will also be provided to aid in the proper healing of the surgical area.
