All incisions will leave a scar. Most scars improve with time, but it typically takes a minimum of six months for scars to mature. During this time the scars get flatter, smoother, paler and softer, all of which help make them less noticeable. If you develop bad scars, these can often be improved by excision and re-suturing of the scar, or by use of a laser.
