Is liposuction permanent? |
The body has a fixed number of fat cells. Liposuction permanently reduces the number of fat cells in a given area. There will still be some fat cells remaining. This means that if there is a modest weight gain, it will tend to occur in other parts of the body rather than the area that underwent liposuction. If there is a massive weight gain, then some of the fat will re-accumulate in the area that underwent liposuction.
